Nanoscale technology and Molecular manufacturing are two major fields in Nanotechnology. Nanoscale technology studies small structure which is used for making stronger materials, better medicines and faster computers. Molecular manufacturing is concerned with building mechanical and chemical manufacturing systems that join molecules together.

UG: For admission into an undergraduate course in Nanotechnology, a candidate should be 10+2 pass in science stream from recognized Board examination. PG: For admission into a postgraduate course in Nanotechnology, a candidate should have passed B.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Life Sciences with a minimum of 50% marks or B.Tech in Material science/Mechanical/Biomedical/Chemical/Biotechnology /Electronics / Computer Science from recognized University. Others: For admission into a diploma or certificate course in Nanotechnology, candidates should be Bachelor degree in Science from recognized University.

The remuneration offered for Nanotechnology graduates in public sector is Rs.20,000 to Rs.30,000 and the package is higher in the private sector. The package offered for experienced professionals is over Rs. 1 lakh per month.
